Established forty-two years ago, Comhdháil Na Múinteoirí Le Rincí Gaelacha, or simply An Comhdháil as it’s fondly known, has grown exponentially…a fact that is mirrored by its largest competitive event of the year. Originally, this event was known as the An Comhdháil All Ireland Irish Dancing Championships - reflecting An Comhdháil’s large presence in Ireland. Members of An Comhdháil taught and continue to teach in all four provinces of Ireland.
Over the years as An Comhdháil expanded in Ireland and abroad, the prestigious event was renamed as the An Comhdháil All Ireland and International Irish Dancing Championships to reflect members teaching abroad, and to allow these members’ Irish dancers to partake in the organisation’s largest competitive event of the year.
This year, in order to encompass the vast expansion of An Comhdháil worldwide including the U.S.A. United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East, the first An Comhdháil World Irish Dancing Championships will be held in Dublin, Ireland.
